Tests are divided into five groups according to the levels, adapted to the usual rating limits (1000, 1400, 1800, 2100 and the theoretical 3000 at the master level). Each chess school level has one test. Questions and test positions are given at random order. Number of test positions and questions is about 2 million.
Answering:
At the written tests you should click on the right answer, at the chessboard tests you should click on the boards or the buttons under the boards. At the double-board tests you have four choices: right or left board, 'Both' or 'Neither' button.
Time and evaluation:
You should answer questions in a definite time which depends on the level and the test (15 to 300 seconds). Exceeding the time limit is evaluated as a wrong answer. After each solution the program counts the score of your answer according to its correctness and the time used, and adds it to your rating. The new details appear on the screen together with the new test position. The number of questions is not limited, but you can always interrupt the game with the PAUSE button, and the program evaluates and displays your result.
Rating:
After the registration everybody starts from 1000 points and everybody has only one rating, independently from the level. Changing levels after solving several problems, the program adapts the rating to the level given, depending on the score. At the same time, it gives a percentage to the rating which refers to the result, related to the given level. The normal value should be around 100%. If it is too high or too low after solving a number of problems, it is advisable change levels into the suitable direction.
Access:
1000-1400-1800-2100 levels can be accessed by subscribers only. Master level (3000) is available for everyone.
